A student from Merit University represents Egypt in the international COP31 Climate Conference Simulation Program
Merit University is proud of the participation of student Hend Adel Ahmed El-Borai, a student at the Faculty of Medicine, in the fifth edition of the annual international COP31 Climate Conference Simulation Program, organized by the British University in Egypt (BUE) in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with the participation of students and youth from around the world.
Hend Adel was selected among 150 finalists out of more than 3,000 applicants, in a program that brought together participants from 43 countries and 115 universities, to be part of the Egyptian delegation and represent the Arab Republic of Egypt in the simulation of international negotiations on climate issues.
Hend participated in the capacity of:
🇪🇬 Youth and ACE Representative – Egyptian Delegation
Through this role, she took part in representing Egyptian youth and discussing climate issues, sustainable development, climate action, climate education, and youth empowerment, along with participating in dialogue and negotiation sessions and drafting proposals and policies, in an experience that simulates the atmosphere and stages of international negotiations for the COP31 Conference of the Parties.
This participation is a distinguished international experience that reflects the ability of Egyptian youth to be present and actively participate in international forums. It also represents a model of the role of Merit University students in engaging with global issues and developing their skills in diplomacy, negotiation, policymaking, and youth leadership.
