Three student teams from Merit University have advanced to the next stage of the University Waste Management Competition 2026 “Green Loop Competition,” organized by the Innovators and Talents Care Fund in cooperation with the Leadership Preparation Institute at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, after passing the internal hackathon with projects based on technology and artificial intelligence:
RePhyto (Faculty of Pharmacy): Converting plant waste into products with economic value.
EcoSuture (Faculty of Medicine): Recycling plastic waste and using it in surgical suturing training.
EcoScan (Faculty of Biotechnology): Sorting and classifying waste through scanning and artificial intelligence technologies.
This achievement reflects the university’s continuous keenness to support innovators and transform their scientific ideas into sustainable environmental solutions that serve the community.
