The activities of the Fourth Medical Conference of the South Upper Egypt Universities Alliance were launched on Saturday, April 27, 2025, at Merit University, and continued the following day at South Valley University, with wide participation from Egyptian and international universities.
The conference featured 86 scientific research papers from Egyptian, Arab, and foreign universities, including Germany, the United States of America, Ireland, Spain, and Belgium. A total of 54 papers were presented through direct oral presentations, 32 papers as poster presentations, and 14 papers online, distributed across 12 scientific sessions in the specialties of human medicine, pharmacy, and physical therapy, with the participation of 35 professors and experts.
The opening session was honored by the presence of the presidents of Merit University, South Valley University, Aswan University, and Sohag University, along with a distinguished group of members of the Boards of Trustees, deans, and professors. The renowned Egyptology expert, Prof. Dr. Waseem El-Sisi, delivered a commemorative lecture on “Medicine Among the Ancient Egyptians.”
The Third Student Conference was also inaugurated, with the participation of 92 students who presented 21 scientific research papers. These papers underwent scientific peer review in preparation for honoring the winners with financial prizes and certificates of appreciation at a later date.
The conference comes within the framework of enhancing scientific cooperation among the universities of the Upper Egypt Alliance, supporting scientific research, and exchanging expertise locally and internationally.
