Faculty Objectives

The College of Technological Sciences at Merit University aims to:

Program Overview

The Biotechnology program at Merit University focuses on the study of technology in biological, medical, and pharmaceutical sciences, alongside industrial and environmental applications.

The Program Covers:

* Genes, their modifications, and medical applications.
* Molecular Biology.
* Stem Cells (their characteristics and the production of new cell types).
* Various proteins and their production.
* Vaccines and serums: their mechanisms of action and production.
* Production of immunological drugs.
* Pharmaceutical preparations and drugs: their effects and development for improved response.
* Industrial Pharmacy and its applications.
* Bionanotechnology and its applications.

Degree Awarded

The University Council grants, upon the request of the College of Technological Sciences Council, a Bachelor of Biotechnology degree according to the credit-hour system.

Duration of Study

The program duration is four years, divided into Fall and Spring semesters. Each semester lasts for fifteen weeks. Some courses may be offered in an intensive Summer semester lasting seven to eight weeks.**

Language and System of Study

Studying in the Faculty  is in English, and it is allowed to teach some courses in Arabic after the approval of the College and University Councils.
